The Miners Doncaster eased to a brilliant Men’s Division 2 North title victory with three wins this month to cap an excellent season, in which they only lost one game. At the bottom, Nottingham Rockets couldn’t find the win they needed to escape finishing in the basement of the division.

Thing’s couldn’t be tighter at the bottom of the Men's Division 2 North, Norwich Spikers and Nottingham Rockets are separated only by set difference. Norwich’s 3-0 victory against Nottingham could prove pivotal in the battle for survival. However, Nottingham’s tense 3-2 victory against an in-form York team has ensured the race to stay in the league will go down to the bitter end. At the top, the former four horse race is over as Miners Doncaster have pulled two points clear of their nearest rival with games in hand, and just need to fulfil their fixtures to be crowned champions!

The race for the title in the Men’s Division 2 North continues to be nail-biting as the four teams scrap it out at the top. There was a big shock as the University of Nottingham, lost to two mid-table sides this month in Melton Lions and Manchester Marvels, which cost them taking back top spot. They now lie third on 31 points, two behind leaders DARKSTAR Derbyshire who recorded two victories this month.
Stockport Volleyball Club sit fourth on 31 points too so are well in the chase after notching another win this month. The current favourites for the title are Miners Doncaster who are in second on 31 points too but have two games in hand on the other three. They underlined their credentials by adding four notches to the win column this month, including an impressive 3-1 defeat of rivals Stockport.

The battle for supremacy in Men’s Division 2 North continues to take twists and turns. The Miners Doncaster lost their unbeaten record to the University of Nottingham who went on the rampage this month, winning four matches and taking top spot. DARKSTAR Derbyshire have risen to second with a couple of wins over bottom-placed Norwich Spikers and Melton Lions. Stockport are level on points with them in third after going unbeaten this month with three wins. While Miners still have lots of games in hand to reel the teams in and challenge to get back to the top of the league in 2019 as the league continues to be one of the most exciting in the NVL!

There’s been a changing of the guard in Men’s Division 2 North, as Tamworth Spartans early form came to an end and has seen them have a fruitless month. The imperious Miners Doncaster have ascended to pole position with three wins this month and to have registered five straight victories. Their month included two five set wins against Stockport and Melton Lions.
